According to the Association of Home Information Pack Providers (Ahipp) the total number of accredited Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) has reached almost 1,600 ahead of the launch of the home information packs (Hips) scheme on August 1st.
The current No. of DEAs is enough to assess properties with four or more bedrooms.
Current number of accredited DEAs: 1,595
Number of DEAs required for four bedroom, plus homes: achieved
Number of DEAs required for three bedroom plus, homes: 2,000
Number of DEAs required for all housing stock: 3,000
The current figures represent a surge in accreditations, with an additional 255 DEAs accredited since last week.That indicates that processes are working efficiently and that the industry is ready and remains committed to the smooth introduction of HIPs.
